Evaluation visit to Minsk of the Council of Europe monitoring group of the Anti-Doping Convention
Visit of the Council of Europe delegation to Minsk for examination of Belarus anti-doping policy and gathering facts for assessment of the implementation of the Anti-Doping Convention took place on 3-5 February, 2015.
Council of Europe Anti-Doping Convention was adopted on the 16th of November, 1989.
The Republic of Belarus signed the Convention on the 12th of September, 2002, it entered into force on the 1st of May, 2006. (Read more information about the Convention in English: http://www.coe.int/t/dg4/sport/doping/convention_en.asp)
The members of the Council of Europe monitoring group held meetings with the senior executives of the Ministry of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus, the National Olympic Committee, as well as with Belarusian athletes. The representatives of the monitoring group visited the National anti-doping laboratory, the Olympic sports complex "Stayki", the National Olympic training center for winter sports "Raubichy", the National anti-doping agency.
